We track down beaver in it’s natural habitat, raid the house and chase it down using Viking weapons including a bearded axe and sword. Next we pillage from a nearby settlement to procure tubers including potatoes and yams, corn, and squash. We turn these into a delicious bushcraft meal over open fire in a Dutch oven.

Fire is started using flint and steel, cedar bundle coupled with birch bark and a flaming arrow! All Vikings start their fires with flaming arrows.

Finally we devour the tail of the beaver and talk about what it might mean for someone who is famished.

Ron is a trapper local to Elmira and teaches trapping courses for people in the area whom are doing a vital service of limiting population growth of specific animals that may be causing trouble for farmers.
