Catch and Cook PRIMITIVE Fish on a STICK | Ice Fishing the NORTH | THOUGHTS on HAND-OUTS and #ME TOO

Join our big, extended family on a SUPER COLD up NORTH at nearly -30 Celsius as we put together a fresh trout cooked over the fire on a stick while ice fishing!

I will show you how to cook a fish on a stick using primitive technology. This is wilderness living at it’s finest!

My tip-ups rock! I never miss a fish, even catch a bunch of perch.

*Warning: I shed a tear in this video. Every so often, something hits me just the right way and I actually feel an emotion. I know, it’s weird, but even men have emotions. Men have boxes for everything, a box for fishing, one for hunting, one for family, one for our pets, one for skinning animals, and one for caring for others. This is why men can do such great things and seem to do so without getting bogged down in feelings…it’s what makes men be able to solve problems using logic and reason. Hopefully I don’t shock you…I certainly didn’t expect for things to go this way.*

We are ice fishing in Northern Canada for splake which is a cross between a lake trout and a brook trout or speckle trout.

Later in the video I do a trail-side chat to discuss “modern living as a hunter gatherer” and ways to be effective in life. There’s nothing for free, our boys are misunderstood, we need to let our boys be who they are and you shouldn’t waste what youth you have left.
