I Made a Primitive Cattail Reed Bed for the Hut

Sleep is important. I had slept on the hard floor of this Hut many times but I never felt got restful sleep so I came up with a simple method to make a primitive bed to support my body above the ground. I used tree branches to make the frame, tied the frame together with yucca cordage and lashings, and weaved together cattail leaves across the frame like a hammock. I then placed a cattail mat on it and it was surprisingly comfortable. A few strings of cordage did break and I was able to tie new pieces to fix it but it needs to be stronger so I will do it again with better made cordage.
