Llyn Y Fan Fawr Wild Camp Wales in Wet & Windy Conditions

Me and Drufus headed up to Llyn Y Fan Fawr in the Brecon Beacons for the night to go wild camping. I tried out hiking poles for the first time which seemed to help a lot climbing the hill. It was very busy at the lake with many walkers and a few other wild campers. However, we found a spot away from everyone and it was very peaceful. I had planned for a quick swim on the walk up there but the temperature suddenly dropped as we arrived! After the really warm morning we had I thought that shorts would be fine for the trip but the wind chill when we stopped moving soon taught me otherwise. We set up camp slightly off the main path on some peat which would haven been comfy enough on just a foam mat I think, if slightly lumpy…

I had a Tiny Rebel – Cwtch which I normally can’t get hold of in my local shop. It’s a shame they are not in more supermarkets already as all their beers are really nice. Although I was mainly on the teas and coffees on this expedition.
Food was the Firepot spicy pork noodles, Pork kebabs, Chilli pesto pasta and Peanut butter and jam wraps. I also used my micro bamboo chopping board and kuksa.
