Bahco Laplander Flint & Steel Fire with Quartz

Using the Laplander as an improvised striker for flint and steel. I had tried striking the spine of the Bahco Laplander before and was not impressed with the sparks. After posting the Silky saw video, a couple of people mentioned the Laplander, so I decided to give it another shot with some quartz I found in a nearby creek bed.

It seems to spark almost as well as the Silky, so my best guess is that I didn’t remove enough of the paint/coating the first time.

We had two dry days in a row, so I hastily gathered up some big leaf maple leaves from the forest floor for the tinder bundle.

Triumph Screen Printing was one of the people that recommended using the Bahco for this. Check out his channel and his “Fire It Up Friday” series…. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCymBAGY9BG8AIgQ-2wXmlcw
