Bow Drill in the Rain with Nettles Cordage

Now that we’re well into the rainy season, most of the nettles have started to rot, but I was able to find some strong enough to make cordage with.

I used a little grand fir for my bow drill set, and found some partial cover from the rain by hiding underneath the cedars. I used some punkwood that my assistant found for the bundle, but it wasn’t as dry as I had hoped, so I had to make an emergency tinder run and shred up some cedar bark to get flames.

Questions, comments, and suggestions are always welcome.
