How to Build the A-Frame Fire Lay

A demonstration of how to build an A-Frame Fire Lay.

A useful and effective all-around fire lay. .

Sometimes confused by name with the Lean to Fire Lay.

The A-Frame Fire lay is simple in design, but can take a bit longer to make than many more common fire lays. This fire lay burns with the same intensity as a standard Tee-Pee Fire Lay, but is more structural and therefore less likely to fall over as the Tee-Pee Fires often do. This Fire Lay is easy to start and only requires the addition of larger fuel wood once burning hot.
This fire lay can be built starting with a tripod arrangement of three forked sticks, or you can poke one stick into the ground to act as a beam that will hold up the other twigs as demonstrated in this video.
