WHP 1200 | Unit 2 Overview | World History Project

This video introduces Unit 2: The Global Tapestry from 1200 to 1450 CE. Kim and Colby give some great examples of globalization, starting with their conversation happening at opposite ends of the Earth. The ten-minute presentation invites students to start thinking about what happens to communities when trade networks grow and shrink over time. There’s even a chart that shows the worldwide GDP (gross domestic product) for the last 2,000 years. Why? Because it’s that kind of class, that’s why. Warn your students that they are all about to turn into shameless history nerds.
