Primitive Campfire Cooking Ideas – Fish On A Stick – Bushcraft & Survival cook up with TA OUTDOORS

This video demonstrates some backwoods bushcraft & survival cooking – how to cook a whole salmon over smouldering coals using some of nature’s resources. This method of primitive cooking is known as ponassing, and can be applied to almost anything you want to cook over a fire without the need for a grill. The main tools used in this video were a knife and axe, although a simple piece of flint would do the job!
Root used was from a fallen cedar, blown over a few days earlier.

Video extracted from an episode of the Viking house build with TAOUTDOORS in 2019.
