Building a WIGWAM SHELTER with TA OUTDOORS – NATURAL MATERIALS, BARK ROOF, CEDAR CORDAGE, AXE, SAW

Join us for our latest build—THE WIGWAM SHELTER—where we will be using as many natural materials as possible to build a simple and sturdy shelter. This shelter is based on a Native American traditional ‘wigwam’ style shelter. The only tools used for this build have been (so far) an axe, knife and a saw. The cordage used for binding has been sourced from felled cedar trees (destined for firewood) and the long lengths of wood used are Hazel.

This will be a mini-series so please stay tuned for more ‘build updates’ and who knows….maybe one day we might do an overnighter!

We have some even bigger plans for our next shelter which will be far bigger than this one………that’s all I’m saying!
