This Knife Isn’t Worth It

Making a knife with a hamon is a pain. Especially without a lot of performance benefit. Hamons can have their benefits on certain knives, but in the day and age of super steels, and more precise heat treating, I think they have lost a lot of that performance edge. Dont get me wrong, hamons are beautiful things, but at this point in time, done more for that specific purpose, beauty. They amount of time in solved in making these things is crazy. Sorta like Damascus, yet on a smaller scale. Would you be willing to pay more for a knife with a hamon vs a knife made with “super steel”? Me personally, im interested in knife performance, so id rather pay for the higher quality steel than the sheer looks. Call me a simpleton 🤷‍♂️
