Knife Making – DIY SUPER Simple Bushcraft Knife

Knife Making – The Simple Bushcraft Knife!
I started with a piece of 1080 steel and some hickory for the scales and ended up with a great little bushcraft knife. This is knife making at its simplest. No music just knife making. This is pretty much all the steps involved in making this knife. I did leave out the multiple normalization cycles. I just showed one. The knife was also temperer at 400 degrees for two 2 hour cycles. The edge is a 220 grit edge and stropped. Its Scary sharp!
Natural wood is tough to work with for scales. It contaminates easily with the sandpaper grit and also the metal shavings from hand sanding. Its very tough to keep clean. Theres a reason you don’t see many light wooded natural scales (such as maple). Some forward thinking is required in order to finish it right. Hope you enjoyed this video. Thanks for watching!
