Bivvy Bag Midge Attack!😖 Fire in Rain – Wild Camping UK

We went wild camping, UK. I was in the tyvek bivvy bag using a tarp as a shelter and Drufus took his Pretents Soloist. I had a quick wild swim in a great pool in the mountain river which was really refreshing.
I cooked up some spaghetti and meatballs and made a right hash of it while Drufus got cosy with some Ainsley Harriot, prawns and steak. We had an amazing fire going in the rain which just didn’t seem to want to go out. I think the wood must have been full of resins which helped it along.
Dusk brought the midges which my net seemed to do nothing against ( I could see them crawling through the holes). They disappeared through the night but returned to chew on me at dawn. The bivi will probably be used next time just to add extra warmth inside the safety of a tent 😅
