Building a Log Sauna in the Forest (at the Off Grid Cabin) – Part 1

I build an off grid sauna in the woods near the small cabin to take the edge off the harsh winter weather.

The sauna is covered with dead harvested cedar with the frame formed by a metal culvert. The ends are sided with ash wood harvested from a tree nearby cut to 1/2 inch thickness on a portable sawmill. Insulation is off cast, so bought for cheap, and the studs are from discarded pallet wood. Subscribe for part 2 where we work on the inside of the sauna.
