Building a Small Cabin (Nearly FINISHED!) | Trimming, BBQ Egg-Sammich

In this off grid cabin building adventure, we install the trim around the windows and doors to give it a more finished look. We use power tools with the help of our gas powered generator as we are operating totally off the grid. We are also running solar power and a batter bank so that we can get our work done efficiently.

Our window and door trim is made from fresh milled ash wood trees. We are milling on a portable saw mill by Norwood, the HD36. We then need to dry, and then send the trim before it can be installed. In all, it took us around 3 weeks to get the wood ready to put on the walls.
