Building a Tiny House for a 1 Year Old: Clay Walls | MINI VILLAGE (PART 5)

We finish building the roof of the tiny house/thatched roof hut and continue progress on making a mini village for my one year old daughter. Using water reed and long straw, we tile the thatch in layers to provide a thick insulating and water proof layer. For the walls, we use a cob mix of clay, sand and straw (an ancient primitive technology that is still used on buildings today). The ratio we used was: 4 parts sand, 1 part clay, 1 part straw (estimates). This we mixed together and moulded it to the hazel stick wall (wattle and daub). Thanks for watching and be sure to subscribe so you don’t miss out on videos!

My videos cover bushcraft, building shelters, camping, off grid cabin building, diy, survival skills, wilderness survival, cooking, primitive technology, asmr, fishing and outdoor nature skills.
