BUSHCRAFT AXE FROM AN OLD CARPENTERS HAMMER

If your looking for a budget bushcraft axe option don’t be intimidated by diy. Its very easy especially if you buy a handle. These old axes have great steel and hold an edge a LONG time. Not to mention you will have pride in your work!

Making a mini bushcraft axe from an old carpenters hammer. Hand making the axe handle from hickory. And finally sharpening. Hand making an axe takes a lot of work. The sharpening was done on Norton sharpening stones. Polishing was done on the bench buffer. Don’t be intimidated by a project like this. Hand making a handle is not necessary. Any hatchet handle bought from a hardware store or home depot will work just fine. All of the hatchet head restoration was done by hand, aside from the polishing. Thanks for watching!!
