Bushcraft Canoe Trip in Sweden. Part Three – The Island

In this video series, Andy (Kent Survival) and I head off to the Swedish Wilderness for a five day canoeing and bushcraft adventure inspired by Dave Bliss’ book ‘Paddles and Polar Bread’. Paddling along the massive lake Stora Le, we experience all the weather Sweden can throw at us, from glorious sunshine, to snow and strong winds whipping the lake up into a raging turmoil of waves and spray. We take all our equipment and food with us in our aluminium Linder canoes and camp in Dano huts or wild camp along the way.

This video is episode three – after an unexpected rest day while Andy recovered from illness, we get up ready to press on towards our next camp spot. Heading northwards up the lake and then out across the growingly choppy lake to a stunning thickly wooded island and our Dano hut. We set up our shelters near the hut and head off to explore our new home. Firewood collection, prep and dinner lead on to an evening of enjoying wine and good company. My head may regret it in the morning!

I hope you enjoy the video and please tune in for the final episode.

Thanks for watching!
