BUSHCRAFT PROJECT with TA OUTDOORS – CELTIC ROUNDHOUSE – Axe / Knife / Saw / Auger – (Ep.3)

In episode 3 we continue the construction of the Celtic roundhouse by sourcing and peeling the bark off the rafters. We also create a woven ring of hazel which will brace the rafters together allowing more room in the roundhouse by not needing uprights to hold the roof up. Mike from TA OUTDOORS does a great job with the draw knife stripping the bark while I got creative weaving the hazel ring. In the next episode we plan on finishing the left over rafters and then begin adding the cross sections which will support the thatched roof. This project is a bit of traditional construction meets bushcraft and to be totally honest with you I think its really starting to come together now. We didn’t have a feat in this episode but keep an eye out for episode 4 as I plan on cooking something tasty over the fire. If you have any cooking suggestions then please leave a comment below. As for tools used in this eposode we used a folding saw, traditional auger, draw knife, bushcraft knife and a couple of viking style axes.
