Next we show how to clean the squirrel, mince, and salt (charcuterie) to break down the muscle fibers and make it less chewy. Next we use a primitive stone hammer made by Jay Valente of Vision Quest Outdoors to tenderize the squirrel meat.

I use rendered bear fat to to help season the pan and an egg we ‘found in the forest,’ next we fry the meat in a cast iron skillet to make the perfect Sloppy Joe. Served with a garden tomato, bbq sauce over bread makes the perfect wild edible meal.
