Harvest Yams after the first frost. You can keep them in the ground and take them as you need, harvest them all at once, keep them in the fridge, or store them in a cool place. Yams are sweet and deliciously roasted with garlic and fresh herbs in the baby camp oven over a wood burner I made from a gas bottle.
