ENLIGHTENED EQUIPMENT ENIGMA 30°, HAMMOCK GEAR PHOENIX 20°, WARBONNET RIDGE RUNNER Cold weather test

Testing the enlightened equipment enigma 30° quilt, the hammock gear Phoenix 20° quilt, and the warbonnet ridge runner. After using gathered end hammocks for a backpacking season, I’ve come to the realization they are not for me. I really like the warbonnet ridge runner hammock. It has a much flatter lay, and it is easier to side sleep.
Im a big fan of enlightened equipment. Although, I’m not a big fan of the vertical baffles. The enigma 30* quilt has definitely proven itself.
I love the flexibility hammock camping provides. The ability to camp anywhere regardless of what is on the ground is awesome! Hammock camping is heavier than ultralight tent camping. It can definitely be worth the extra weight though. As long as you find the hammock that is right for you.
The tarp used in the video is a warbonnet superfly tarp. It’s a great tarp as long as you seam seal the guy out points. Although this is not true a true winter hammock setup. This is about as low as I want to push hammocks in the cold. Thanks for watching!
