Finns First Day Hunting ~ Clay Tall Stories

Finn is 12 year’s old. It is Thursday and tomorrow its his birthday. He has taken the day off school to get some work experience. We never expected that this hunt would go on for 12 hours or that the dogs would clock up over 60 km and that we would do over 20 km on foot in the hills. Hunting with dog’s is always so unpredictable and you can never have a set ETA as we only go home once we have got our dogs back into us. For this reason most pig hunter who hunt the wilderness on foot are generally extremely fit for when they grow tired they still must press onward. We all got tired on this day but young Finn was exceptional. He had done his own personal training leading up to this hunt by filling his school bag up with books and walking up the hills behind his house. It served him well as he kept up with me all day long in what was a big day on the hill. We were entered into the Riwaka Hunting & Fishing Competition and hoping to enter a pig.
