How I lace my sandals

Sandals may seem primitive but there are good reasons why they are my favorite footwear. I began wearing sandals on a Caribbean hiking adventure in January of 2014. They are comfortable, practical, and in this video I show how I lace my sandals with inexpensive paracord.

The advantages to these sandals:
1) All terrain, good traction, can get wet, dry fast, easy off, easy on
2) Durable and last a long time
3) Replacing laces is easy and inexpensive
4) Constant air exposure prevents athlete’s foot fungal growth
5) Cool earthy style

Disadvantages:
1) Difficult in muddy conditions, laces must be really tight
2) Feet not protected from skin abrasions
3) Feet not protected from animal or insect bites

I’ve worn these sandals from Alaska, to Hawaii, throughout the continental U.S. and Mexico, to Puerto Rico and Brazil.
