How to Carry Fire | Building Fire Carriers

This is How to Carry Your Fire in the Wild. This is a two-part series showing first how to make reliable fire carriers in the Wild and then in the second part we’ll be lighting them on fire using Flint and Steel fire method but without using ANY charred material whatsoever. We’ll also demonstrate the amazing durability of these carriers in part-two as we put them through all kinds of punishing tests to see how they hold up.

The methods we use to create fire carriers are inspired by primitive cultures who were proficient at this skill and knew how important it was to preserve and carry their fires with them. In fact, aside from the practical reasons for doing this there was a sacred and spiritual symbolism affixed to this practice for many Native American cultures.

Many of our Fire carriers are designed to be Long Burning sustainable, Durable Fire Carriers that can literally last all day. That means you can make one fire, one time in the morning, take it with you…use it during the day for making fires, and still have that same fire ready to go for that evening’s fire. Knowing how to carry fire in the Wilderness is a skill that we consider as an essential wilderness survival skill, not to mention a great convenience for practical use in our regular Wilderness Ventures.
