How to make a fermented toyon beverage

Toyon (Heteromeles arbutifolia) is an attractive wild bush endemic to California with edible red fruits that ripen in the winter. I have long enjoyed this fruit as a wild trail snack and I recently did a fermentation experiment with it and found it to produce a pleasant tasting beverage.

In this video I provide detailed step-by-step instructions to make your own fermented toyon beverage and commentary of the taste test I did of the three variations I produced.
