Knife Making – How To Make A Belt Knife From An Old Broken File.

Knife making, how to make a knife from an old broken file. This is just me making a knife from a broken file.
I first annealed the file so it could be drilled and worked easier. Then I shaped the knife out of the file and hardened the knife in canola oil. The knife was tempered at 400 degrees for 2 one hour cycles. I sharpened the blade to 8000 grit then buffed out the flats with white buffing compound. The belts im using are surface conditioning belts and are great for knife making. I was going for a rough polished look with this.
The sheath was made from kydex. And has para-cord belt loops. Its pretty tough getting in and out but I think thats a good thing. I don’t want the knife to come out while im wearing it.
Thanks for watching😀
