One Day Jungle Survival Shelter

In the tropics thunderstorms at night are very common so staying dry is a big concern. During my stay alone in a remote jungle canyon in Chiapas, Mexico I made this primitive survival shelter to keep me dry during the thunderstorms that occurred almost every night. I spent two days making it because I was shooting video and doing other activities but it could be made in as little as half a day as long as the materials can be found nearby. The important thing is to really pack a lot of grass on the top of it. I was running out of time so I didn’t put quite enough. Surprisingly it leaked only a little on the inside in one area.
