Primitive Cattail Boogie Board

Cattail, or bullrush leaves are extremely light and were a common material used in primitive raft making. While watching the waves roll in at the beach I got the idea to try making a boogie board out of common cattail (Typha latifolia) leaves that grow so abundantly in this area. This was an experimental project. I really didn’t know if it would work so I just gathered three bundles of dry cattail leaves and tied them together with natural fiber rope. Watch the video to see if it works!

Thank you for watching! I really appreciate you all!
