Primitive Sewing Kit to Fix Shorts

This primitive sewing kit (also known as “Apache sewing kit”) is easily made from several species of yucca that grow in southern California. In this demonstration I use Hesperoyucca whipplei (chaparral yucca) to make a needle and thread that I use to sew together a major tear in my shorts. If you missed it, my shorts suffered a severe tear resulting in an embarassing wardrobe malfunction while camping in Nicaragua.
