Primitive Sewing Kit to Fix Torn Shorts

After wearing these shorts for over a year at my Hut they finally tore in the crotch area leaving an embarrassing hole. Not to worry, nature provides the perfect solution! I made a primitive sewing kit out of the leaf of a chaparral yucca (Hesperoyucca whipplei) plant which grows wild here in the coastal hills of southern California. This natural needle and thread combination worked marvelously to quickly close the hole in my shorts.
