This is not a review of either the Sony hx-80 or the iPhone 7 plus. Just a short video and audio comparison. Also both the iPhone and Sony hx-80 are in automatic mode. The Sony is recording in xcvc s at 60p, the iPhone is recording at 1080p at 60p. Most of my videos up to this point have been filmed with the iPhone 7 Plus. I will be switching primarily to the Sony HX 80 from this point on. Unless I return it..the iPhone 7 plus video quality is just that good.

Remember the Sony hx-80, the Sony hx-90v, the Sony wx-500 and the Sony wx-350 all have the same internals.. plus or minus a couple features. And the ability to record in the Sony xavc s format. Which in these small cameras, it’s hard to tell the difference between xavcs and the avchd format anyway. Just my opinion!
