When asked to read, analyze, and evaluate the credibility of historical documents, students often panic at first. As educators, we get it. Building student confidence in their ability to analyze sources takes time and practice. That’s why we’ve created the Sourcing Tool for you and your students, which provides a clear procedure (a checklist of sorts) for sourcing historical documents. In the WHP course, students will encounter many documents that they will be asked to evaluate for credibility. Through the consistent use of the Sourcing Tool, they’ll become confident about their sourcing skills.
