TESTING A $12 KNIFE SHARPENING STONE FROM AMAZON. Knife sharpening doesn’t have to be expensive.

What is the best beginning knife sharpening stone to buy? There are a lot of questions you need to ask yourself when looking at sharpening stones. In this video I go over some of those question and some things to consider when looking at sharpening supplies.
I also test a $12 sharpening stone bought from amazon. This would make a good stone for a beginner looking to practice the basics of knife sharpening. I wouldn’t recommend going out and buying a lot of expensive sharpening supplies, as you may end up deciding its not for you. Cheap sharpening gear is a much better place to start as you will not wast any money even if you decide to later on buy the more expensive whetstones.
I would recommend a sharpening stone with dual grits like this combination stone. It will give you more options at almost no additional cost. I also ALWAYS recommend a strop. You can either buy one like the Knives Plus Strop Block, or DIY a strop from an old leather belt.
Knife sharpening doesn’t have to be expensive. 😀

The knife used in this video is a spyderco sage 1 in s30v steel
I bought everything in this video with my own money and make no money if you purchase any of these knife sharpening items.
I am not an “expert” and this is just my opinion. Your milage may vary.
