I use aluminum sulfate to fix the silt and turbidity in the pond. I show you how to mix the alum sulfate, how to treat the pond for clarity and how to test for pH to make sure all the fish aren’t killed with this chemical pond treatment. it is important not to use too much aluminum sulfate in a pond or the pH might rise to high potentially killing off all the fish.

Alumunium sulfate is not harmful to fish, but if the pH gets too high, that can harm the fish. Aluminum sulfate works by binding to very tiny clay particles and sediment and helping to drop it out of the water column. Treatment is advertised to work for years, but does it really? Let’s test it out.

Aluminium sulfate is a salt with the formula Al2(SO4)3. It is soluble in water and is mainly used as a coagulating agent (promoting particle collision by neutralizing charge) in the purification of drinking water[and wastewater treatment plants, and also in paper manufacturing.
