If you use the warbonnet ridge runner hammock, always make sure you bring the spreader bars! But, if you DO forget to bring the poles, there’s another way.
I’m not sure I recommend this but it could definitely save your backpacking trip. I think you could also use your trekking poles as spreader bars, although I’m not sure how you would attach them to the hammock.
I have considered not carrying a knife to save weight..not any more! I think my multi tool is coming with me from now on! Especially if I’m taking the ridge runner hammock. Or, I could just be smart, and not forget anything.
Backpacking gear lists can definitely help in this area. I strongly recommend making a gear list of everything you would normally bring on a backpacking trip. Make a list and Check it twice!
Although hammock camping does have a certain complexity tent camping does not. I really like the flexibility hammock camping provides. I don’t have to search for that perfect camping site for my tent. All you need for a hammock are two trees
