Winter Wild Camp in a Polish Canvas Laavu. Tent Heater Wood Stove. Hot Tent. Canoe Camping.

In this video, Maggie and I head out along the river in my cedar strip canoe, fully loaded for a weekend of cozy winter camping in my Modified Polish Laavu (Lavvu) hot tent.

After finding a relatively dry spot after all the recent flooding, I set up and complete the usual camp chores – fire wood, water and lighting the tent stove. We then settle down to enjoy a well earned dinner of corned beef hash and boozy hot chocolate and enjoy the warmth and glow from the tent heater. The morning brings a crimson sunrise, a sure sign of the rain that is to come. Coffee and sausage flatbreads are on the menu for breakfast, to fuel me for a full morning of preparation and cooking, but thats for another video!

I hope you enjoy the video, thanks for watching!
